New features

We have implemented a way to login quickly to our website. You will see in the photo below that we have integrated, “Facebook login”. This means that by selecting this option you don’t have to go through the trouble of typing in your name, email and other misc information. This speeds up the process. The advantages of creating a login is to keep track of your events and take advantage of Bangor Buzz subscriber benefits.

As the number of events in our calendar grow, we are always looking to find ways to make accessing the information easier.   One feature we have is our weekly events quick look.   It is located on the right hand side of the home page.  Beginning on Sunday, the weeks events will be listed here.  Each day will gray out as it moves through the week.   Because the days have so many events, you will see a link for each day that says “see all (number) events”. This is a quick way to browse through the weeks events.  Remember that by clicking the Calendar link above, you can search all events by day, month, or category. We hope that you enjoy our site.

We now have over 2800 events.   Looks like there will be lots to do this month.   Be sure to check out the calendar using the link above.  If you have something you would like to add, send us an email. Remember its always free to list any and all events.  If you would like your events feature on the front page, or advertise your business we have added a new price sheet.  You can find that by clicking here.

Today, we added 103 new events to the calendar!  That means that even with the expiring events, we still are growing our calendar.  We now have over 2650 events.  Everything from the UPS hiring event on September 19th, to the Traxxas Monster Trucks coming in April, 2017. Remember, the Facebook and Twitter feeds are only for featured and spotlight events and information.  The full calendar is on our website, www.bangorbuzz.com.  Here is a little tip, if you open the website with your phone and save the page to your home screen, you will have instant access to the calendar and news updates.

We want to take the time to thank you for your support.   We have received so much positive feedback about the site and our contests.  We are over 600 likes on our Facebook page, and in a very short period of time.  We want that number to grow so if you like us, we encourage you to share us with your friends. That being said, our Facebook page is something we want to encourage people to use. Today we smashed the 2000 events threshold!  The calendar now has 2261 events in the Greater Bangor Area and features these into 2018!  Staff is working hard to continue to develop new ways to search these events.  Look for our new filter bar in the coming days.  Oh…..and it’s Friday!!

We thought we would take a minute and explain the information you see on our event listings.  Specifically the ones that are on the home page in our featured sections.   You may have noticed that there is a date in small print.  This is the date the event was listed on the calendar.  It is not the date of the event.  The illustration shown here, breaks down the information you see on our listings.  We try to put the date and time of the event in the title, but it may not always make it there if it is a listing added by from the community.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact us anytime.    

We are proud to announce that there are 1500 events in our calendar.  We would love for you to add your own events to our site and remember it is free, so share as many as you like!

We have introduced a quick way to access us via Twitter and Facebook.  You can see our latest twitter posts in real time on our sidebar and you can like and share our page on Facebook with one click.  Our twitter feed will post new or upcoming events and always keep you informed.  (Okay, so we have fun on there too!)  We are always looking to add new features.
