Zen Meditation Classes Free

An event every week that begins at 8:45am on Sunday, repeating indefinitely
Facing your true self through the practice of Zazen has nothing to do with peoples religions, faiths or beliefs. If these things make you be a better person to others and yourself, what more could be important? This Zen is not a religion and has nothing to do with belief. Facing yourself, through Zazen, is not easy. You need to discover the heart of a lion within yourself. Zazen is like surfing, it take a lot of practice to ride a wave and get pitted.(At one with the wave) “I can’t sit still for 5 seconds” – Well maybe there’s the problem… You can do it. Take control of yourself through the practice of Zazen. 20 minutes sits, then 5 minutes walking Zazen.
The Wild Horse Zendo of The Engaged Zen Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit, tax deductible organization. Anything you can offer is greatly appreciated. We currently are in need of sitting cushions and mats for people to sit on.
Wild Horse is founded to foster patience, mindfulness and self awareness through the practice of Zazen meditation. Za, meaning to sit and Zen, meaning to absorb. What is Zen? Zen is aligning the body and mind to absorb our spirit. Spirit in Latina is spiritus or breath. Sitting Zazen meditation will strengthen and heal your body, mind and spirit. The practice of Zen is a Japanese tradition over 1000 years old originating from China.
Beware, this practice is not for everyone.
We sit Zazen for 20 minutes, then Kinhin(walking meditation) for 5 minutes, back to Zazen.

We ask only for a small donation of $5 dollars or more for the use of this space.
If interested in sitting with us, please dress in loose or comfortable cloths with dull or dark colors with no designs. Also, for now, please bring blackest and pillows to sit on until we are able to provide sitting cushions for you. Test them out at home to make sure they are comfortable to sit on. Please watch the videos to get a better idea as to how and what they are sitting on.
