“Vacationland” Compilation Album
December 28 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
“Vacationland” will be an album of Maine Winter music by various artists, released digitally on bandcamp and as a limited edition of CDs by the new noise label “abusive art”. This page is meant to spread the word to Maine artists who might be interested in submitting material for the album and to broadcast updates of the album’s progress to anyone interested.
So far, plans for the album’s release (date, format, distribution, etc.) are unofficial and subject to change.
This album is envisioned as a collection of atmospheric, experimental, moody, wintery music by artists mostly from Maine. It is meant to be a sonic representation of the dismal oppression of Maine’s Winter weather.
There are a few qualifications necessary for submitted tracks to be approved. Your track must:
1) be within the range of 1-10 minutes long.
2) follow the concept and vision for the album (described in the paragraph above), which can only be judged subjectively but should easily pass if it’s a serious submission.
3) be submitted in WAV or FLAC format.
4) be submitted with all important information about it (title, artist name, etc.) clearly represented.
4a) There should be no room for confusion regarding which is the track title and which is the artist name or anything like that. It would be best to send the track with a message clearly laying out all information. The only mandatory information is the title and artist name, but any extra information (for example: artist location, date recorded, lyrics, links, etc.) may be put into the album release. Even photos or visual artwork may be used if sent.
Submissions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions can be sent to the same address or the abusive art Facebook page or posted on this event page.
